In this fully remote role, you will be pivotal in ensuring precise billing, compliance, and the optimization of revenue streams. Key Responsibilities As a Nurse Auditor / Revenue Integrity & CDM Analyst, your tasks will include • Conducting audits of itemized charges against patient medical records and other hospital documentation. • Assigning appropriate HCPCS codes and modifiers to claims while ensuring adherence to medical necessity requirements. • Collaborating with billing personnel to address coding-related inquiries and provide expert guidance. • Partnering directly with revenue-generating departments to rectify lost charges, respond to billing questions, and offer education on effective charge capture. • Assisting with the maintenance, research, and updates of the Charge Description Master (CDM). • Reviewing observation accounts to ensure precise charge coding for services like ED visits, injections, infusions, and extended recovery care. Required Skills To excel in this role, candidates should possess • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • The ability to work independently and efficiently in a remote environment. Qualifications • Demonstrated expertise in revenue integrity, nurse audits, coding, or charge master functions within a hospital context. • Strong coding proficiency, verified through a competency assessment or extensive clinical nursing experience in ICU, ED, or as a documentation specialist. • Familiarity with health information systems and advanced computer skills. • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
