<p>Job Description:</p><p></p><h2><b>Job Description:</b><br /> </h2><h3><b>Our Opportunity:</b></h3><p>Chewy is seeking a Senior Merchandising Analytics Manager to join our Retail Analytics team in support of the Private Brands business. In this high-impact role, you will help shape the analytical foundation that drives Chewy’s Private Brand growth strategy—spanning product ideation, assortment expansion, sourcing, margin optimization, and lifecycle management. You will partner closely with senior leaders across Private Brands, Category Management, Finance, Supply Chain, and Marketing to influence key decisions and scale data-driven merchandising practices.</p><p>The ideal candidate combines deep analytical expertise with strong business intuition and compelling storytelling skills. You thrive in ambiguous environments, independently lead complex analyses, and translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations that drive profitable growth across Chewy’s Private Brand portfolio.</p><p>This role may be based in our South Florida, Boston, or Seattle hubs.<br /> </p><h3><b>What You’ll Do:</b></h3><ul><li>Lead Private Brand retail analytics, identifying whitespace opportunities and portfolio growth strategies using customer demand, competitive benchmarks, and financial performance data.</li><li>Develop and own analytical frameworks to assess assortment health, SKU productivity, penetration, lifecycle performance, and Private Brand vs. national brand dynamics.</li><li>Partner cross-functionally with Category Management, Marketing, Growth, Finance, Pricing, and Supply Chain to evaluate promotions, brand initiatives, cost structures, margin drivers, demand forecasts, and inventory optimization opportunities.</li><li>Support new product launches and lifecycle strategy through forecasting, test-and-learn measurement, post-launch analysis, and definition of success metrics to guide investment decisions.</li><li>Build and scale core Private Brand reporting and data products across sales, margin, contribution profit, inventory health, and repeat behavior, delivering executive-ready insights and recommendations.</li><li>Drive the analytics roadmap by partnering with Data Science, Engineering, and Product Development to develop dashboards, decision tools, and Generative AI–powered solutions that enhance workflows.</li><li>Serve as a senior analytics leader, mentoring analysts, raising analytical rigor, and influencing stakeholders through clear narratives and data-backed recommendations.</li></ul><h3><b>What You’ll Need:</b></h3><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or business discipline (e.g., Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Supply Chain, Math).</li><li>6+ years of experience leading large-scale analytics initiatives, preferably in retail, ecommerce, or CPG; Private Brand / private label experience strongly preferred.</li><li>Advanced SQL expertise with experience building scalable datasets and performing complex analysis in cloud data environments (Snowflake preferred).</li><li>Strong analytical toolkit, including forecasting, regression, experimentation, clustering, and other advanced analytics techniques.</li><li>Proven ability to translate complex analysis into executive-ready insights, with strong written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Experience leveraging Generative AI to automate insights or build decision-support and analytical solutions.</li><li>Proficiency in Python or R, along with data visualization tools (e.g., Sigma, Tableau) and advanced Excel.</li><li>Deep familiarity with ecommerce and category KPIs, including assortment, pricing, inventory, margin, and financial performance.</li><li>Demonstrated leadership skills, including mentoring analysts, influencing cross-functional stakeholders, and driving clarity in ambiguous environments.</li></ul><h3><b>Bonus:</b></h3><ul><li>Master’s degree or MBA in Math, Business, Economics, or a related field.</li><li>Hands-on experience building automated analytics pipelines, scalable data models, or self-service analytics tools.</li><li>Experience supporting Private Brand, owned brands, or product development analytics.</li><li>Project management experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.</li></ul><p> </p><p> </p>The base salary range for this role is $118,500 - $207,000.<ul><li><p>The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.
