Part-Time Bookkeeper (QuickBooks Online) — Los Angeles

**Hours:** Part-time, flexible (approx. 5-10 hrs/month to start, may grow)

**Location:** Remote or hybrid — Los Angeles, CA preferred

**Compensation:** $35-45/hr, depending on experience

About the Role

I'm looking for a detail-oriented, discreet bookkeeper to manage and maintain QuickBooks Online for a small real estate/personal finance setup with multiple distinct categories of income and expense. This is ongoing monthly work, not a one-time cleanup — though initial setup and organization will be part of the first month.

What You'll Manage

- A 6-unit rent-stabilized rental property (owned/operated through an LLC)

- A small online store

- Due diligence and expense tracking for a business acquisition in progress

- Personal household expenses

- Two youth athletes' activity expenses (tennis and basketball — coaching, travel, tournaments, gear)

- A spouse's related expenses

All of the above will be tracked using QuickBooks Online's **Class Tracking** feature, separating each category cleanly while sharing one Chart of Accounts.

Responsibilities

- Set up and maintain Class Tracking structure in QuickBooks Online

- Reconcile all linked bank and credit card accounts monthly

- Create and maintain bank rules to auto-categorize recurring vendors

- Tag/categorize any transactions the rules miss

- Run monthly Profit & Loss by Class reports

- Flag anything miscategorized or unusual before it compounds

- Maintain organized digital records of receipts/invoices as needed

- Assist with light data prep for annual tax filing (coordinating with outside CPA)

Requirements

- Proven experience with QuickBooks Online, ideally QuickBooks ProAdvisor certified

- Experience with Class or Location tracking for multi-entity/multi-category businesses

- Rental property or real estate bookkeeping experience a strong plus

- Comfortable working with a mix of business and personal finances — discretion and trustworthiness are essential

- Strong communication skills, responsive, and organized

- Able to work independently with minimal oversight once systems are set up

Nice to Have

- Experience supporting small business owners or entertainment-industry households

- Experience with due diligence/acquisition-related expense tracking

Please send a brief note about your relevant experience, your QuickBooks certification status (if any), and your typical hourly rate for part-time monthly bookkeeping work.
