Investment Banking Specialist:

Job Description:

An Investment Banking Specialist is tasked with managing customer accounts, processing transactions, and promoting financial products to meet sales goals.

The primary role of an Investment Banking Specialist includes developing, expanding, and maintaining current client relationships while delivering an exceptional client experience. Investment Banking Specialists provide expert financial advice to existing and potential clients by assessing their financial needs and proposing solutions through banking products and services to help clients achieve their current and future financial objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Educate customers on the full range of the bank’s services, including in-branch support, digital banking tools, and collaborative business partnerships
  • Achieve individual goals through appropriate levels of face-to-face interactions and outbound calls using a needs-based approach
  • Perform duties related to opening and closing accounts, assisting customers with account selection, reviewing account information, and ensuring compliance with BSA and CIP requirements
  • Support consumer loan applications by collecting requests, maintaining knowledge of loan procedures, and assisting with the management of consumer loan accounts within branch locations
  • Identify client needs and refer them to specialized teams supporting small businesses, corporate partners, institutions, financial advisors, and mortgage professionals
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through consistent engagement and exceptional service delivery
  • Ensure all departmental documentation and activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and required compliance training
  • Respond to customer inquiries and process transactions accurately and professionally while identifying opportunities to recommend appropriate solutions
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Ability to effectively influence and communicate in one-on-one and small group settings with customers, clients, and internal team members
  • Strong teamwork mindset to support customers in a fast-paced and evolving banking environment
  • Ability to manage and guide branch staff in accordance with procedures when the Assistant Financial Center Manager (AFCM) is unavailable

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 12 months of customer-facing experience with a strong performance and goal-oriented focus
  • Active registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) is required

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Ability to leverage social media platforms to enhance brand visibility and gather market insights

Other Qualifications:

  • Occasional travel for meetings, training, and support during bank conversions and acquisitions, with minimal overnight requirements
  • Capability to provide guidance and support to other banking institutions within the market
