Job Summary
As a Systems Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in the daily operations of our IT infrastructure, ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the organization’s information systems. You will be responsible for managing and supporting enterprise-level systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and implementing best practices to optimize the technology landscape. This position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong technical acumen, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Responsibilities and Expectations
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will oversee the administration and maintenance of mission-critical servers, network infrastructure, and cloud environments. Your responsibilities include monitoring system performance, implementing security protocols, and ensuring high availability of services. You will contribute to disaster recovery planning, perform regular system backups, and maintain documentation of IT assets and procedures. Additionally, you will collaborate with other departments to assess technology needs and support project deployments. Proactive identification and resolution of technical issues will be essential, as well as mentoring junior staff and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the IT Operations team.
  • Serve as the secondary contact for end-user technical issues
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain internal hardware and software
  • Troubleshoot system problems
  • Manage user accounts, passwords, email, and related IT resources
  • Assist users with remote access and productivity tools
  • Perform system maintenance per IT policies
  • Complete special IT projects assigned by the Infrastructure Manager
  • Prioritize and resolve daily IT requests promptly
  • Contribute to technology planning, implementation, and systems uptime
  • Build SCCM application deployment packages and manage Cohesity backups and DR environments
  • Independently resolve most system issues
  • Conduct capacity planning, testing, and recommend improvements
  • Maintain documentation and configuration records
  • Enforce and monitor security and regulatory compliance, reporting findings to the Infrastructure Manager
  • Maintain vendor relations and stay updated on technology trends and pricing
  • Recommend IT solutions that balance cost, risk, and service needs
  • Regularly report IT issues to the Infrastructure Manager
Required Skills & Education
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in systems administration or IT infrastructure management
  • Expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (such as VMware or Hyper-V)
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VPNs)
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, or similar)
  • Experience with backup solutions, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity strategies
  • Familiarity with SCCM, Office 365, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), and endpoint management
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively with non-technical staff
  • Strong commitment to security practices and regulatory compliance
  • Relevant certifications preferred (such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Security+, VMware Certified Professional)
