About the Role

Amobeez is looking for a detail-oriented Freelance Home Product Tester to join our product testing team. In this role, the product tester will receive a lineup of 3–5 comparable home products at a time to test hands-on in your own home. You will evaluate each product’s performance, features, and overall user experience; take high-quality photos and videos to document your testing process; and provide detailed feedback that will be used in product comparison articles across Amobeez’s three websites.

This is an ongoing freelance opportunity, with new product lineups assigned periodically based on availability and fit.

Key Responsibilities

Test 3–5 products within an assigned lineup according to standardized testing guidelines and timelines
Use each product as intended, evaluating performance, ease of use, build quality, and overall functionality
Take clear, well-lit photos and videos documenting the unboxing, setup, and use of each product
Record observations, measurements, and impressions throughout the testing period
Compare products within the lineup and identify meaningful differences in performance and quality
Write clear, objective, and detailed feedback in a provided review form, summarizing findings for each product
Meet all assigned deadlines and communicate promptly with the Amobeez team regarding testing progress or issues
Return products after testing is complete (for lineups where products are not kept as compensation)

Required Skills & Qualifications

At least 1 year of experience in product testing, product review writing, or a related role
Basic photography skills; a smartphone camera is fine
Demonstrated knowledge of home products and the ability to evaluate product quality, functionality, performance, and overall user experience
Ability to assess products objectively and provide unbiased, evidence-based feedback
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify strengths, weaknesses, and meaningful differences between products
Ability to follow standardized testing protocols and complete all assigned testing tasks accurately and consistently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Reliable, organized, and able to meet deadlines
Comfortable using a variety of home products and learning new technologies, features, or product functions as needed

Compensation Compensation is structured by lineup type:

Lower-priced lineups: Tester keeps all products as compensation, plus a cash bonus of $25
Higher-priced lineups: Tester receives $200–$300 per lineup, then returns products (prepaid shipping label provided). Tester may receive more based on the lineup’s total value.
