About the position

NETS is currently seeking a TSA Officer, and no prior security experience is required as all necessary training will be provided and compensated. This position offers a unique opportunity to build a career supporting our nation's first line of defense against threats to air traffic. As a TSA Officer, you will utilize your customer service and critical-thinking skills to ensure the safety of the traveling public. You will work alongside a team of aviation security professionals, responsible for identifying dangerous objects in property and/or on passengers, and preventing those objects from being transported onto aircraft. In this role, you will conduct passenger pat-downs and property searches, which may involve lifting and carrying bags weighing up to 50 pounds, as well as bins and other property. Continuous interaction with the public is essential, as you will be providing directions and responding to inquiries. The position demands a high level of customer service and professionalism, ensuring that the traveling public receives the best possible experience. You will also be required to make effective decisions in both crisis and routine situations while maintaining focus and awareness in a stressful and distracting environment. Operating various screening equipment is also a key responsibility of this role.

Responsibilities

• Identify dangerous objects in property and/or on passengers.
• Prevent dangerous objects from being transported onto aircraft.
• Conduct passenger pat-downs and property searches.
• Lift and carry bags (up to 50 pounds), bins, and property.
• Continuously interact with the public by giving directions and responding to inquiries.
• Provide the highest levels of customer service and professionalism to the traveling public.

Requirements

• Must possess excellent communication skills with proficiency in the English language.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
• Ability to operate security equipment at screening checkpoints.
• Attention to detail and interpersonal skills with established reliable work values.
• Ability to successfully complete required classroom, on-the-job training, and certification exams.
• Able to work irregular hours and/or shifts including holidays and weekends.
• Ability to retain knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Must possess a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Nice-to-haves

• 1 year of customer service experience (preferred).
