Job Description Local to CO candidates only Location Colorado Springs, CO( Remote ) Duration3+ Months Contract System Admin's Statement of Work Security Vulnerabilities Patching and Application Updates and Deployments 80% This position assists in providing technical support to Security Vulnerabilities. Patching and Application Patching and Deployments which includes the use of Client's incident/change order system and the following activities • Assist in the mission and support of the Tanium application and systems. • Monitor and follow up on assigned incidents/problems/change requests • Follow up on resolved/closed tickets to ensure customer satisfaction • Provide support for hardware and software issues over the phone, in person and/or remotely • Provide resolution and assistance for operating systems for Windows Server and Linux based systems • Provide resolution and assistance for Physical and Virtual servers • Deploy new or rebuilt computers and technology equipment based on Client and agency security and operational policies • Support software and hardware patching, updating and deployments • Assist with collaborating with Network, Application, Database and Server teams to resolve issues for assigned agencies. • Provide after-hours support for patching and updating security vulnerabilities and updates to applications • Be able to respond to urgent security incidents as they arise during business hours and outside business hours. • Receive and/or log service incidents into ticketing system. Reassign incident tickets related to other Information Technology Groups for further support IT and Customer Service Management - 10% This position follows the established Client Change Management (RFC) process. • Use established tools to track hardware and software assets. • Assist with informing/sharing new documentation/information with appropriate IT groups. • Assist in ensuring systems are patched and updated using Tanium in accordance with Client policies and procedures. • The position assists with making recommendations to the compliance teams and leadership in regard to when to upgrade certain software packages, hardware driver packages and security vulnerabilities within a maintenance time schedule. • Due to the distributed environment, certain remote locations within various agencies may require onsite visits. The position assists with determining whether a particular hardware driver package or hardware firmware updates may require onsite visits to remote locations. Organizational and Project Commitment - 5% • The position assists in implementing projects for Client. This includes participating in team meetings and implementing project tasks and time tracking. • Attend and complete all internal Client provided training and take advantage of professional development with manager approval. • Share new knowledge or skills in form of mini training sessions with the team. • Some legacy software might not install on newer systems. The position will assist in researching compatibility mode and if feasible will install the software using the mode recommended by the OS. Other Duties as Assigned - 5% • This position may require additional duties related to technical debt. Requiring the decommissioning of servers. Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights QUALIFICATIONS Relevant degree or diploma in Information systems or information technology, Microsoft MCSE certification, experience administering server-side technology and networked computing systems. Familiarity with SQL and database operations. Duties and Responsibilities Install, configure, and support an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), WI-FI, and Internet system or a segment of a network system. Analyze workflow, access, information, and security requirements. Maintain network and security hardware and software. Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability. Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures. Maintain network security policy, addressed security issues and applied appropriate security patches. Skill sets include Microsoft, Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto NGFW, Unix, Linux, MVS or VS, VMWare and extensive network certifications. Education and Experience A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience as an IT professional which must include A minimum of three (3) years' experience as a systems administrator within a Windows or Linux environment. Experience in IT controls, Cyber (NIST or CIS), HIPAA, PCI, or security compliance. Applicants will be required to complete Department of Revenue Security Clearance requirements. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a professional, large enterprise-level environment (100+ servers), as a dedicated Systems Administrator. Some experience with Linux operating systems. Experience managing both on premise and familiarity with cloud environments. Real-world, hands on experience with at least one Cloud based environment (AWS - Preferred, Azure or GCP). Scripting experience in Powershell, 9293 Eastbash and python. Ability to participate in an on-call rotation. Experience with central system administration and monitoring tools such as syslog, puppet, Splunk. Understanding of system hardening through group policy management and security concepts from a system administration perspective. Experience with Google Apps in a professional environment. Experience with Crowdstrike, Tenable, or Tanium Certifications ITIL, CompTIA Security +, GIAC Global Information Assurance Certification from SANS Institute, CISSP, CISA and/or CISM.
