About the position

Synchrony’s Auto SVP and General Manager is a Team Leader responsible for many of the Top 10 clients within the broader Auto business. A few of these Top 10 clients include Pep Boys, Mavis, Big Brand Tire, and Meineke. This critical and highly visible executive team leader will focus on delivering the broader Auto business strategy while increasing overall sales, application growth, new account volume, revenue, and net income for this Auto portfolio. Delivering profitable growth in a scalable approach is significant for this role. The SVP/GM will also evaluate business development opportunities and new adjacencies as well as develop new strategies to drive earnings accretion through greater integration into the broader auto network and SYF ACE initiatives, including Marketplace. This role reports to the SVP, Auto Leader in the Home and Auto platform and is a member of the Auto senior leadership team. Our Way of Working We’re proud to offer you flexibility. Occasionally you will be required to commute or travel for in person engagement activities such as business or team meetings, training and culture events. Field Sales and some Commercial team roles may have varied location requirements based upon partner obligations or preferences.

Responsibilities

  • Multi-Client Portfolio & Network Leadership Lead and direct a team of 6 client leaders, with oversight of 3 specific P&Ls, 1 shared multi-client portfolio and multiple highly profitable relationships
  • Develop strategic vision and overall client growth plan, including the identification of new market opportunities and commercialization of PFCCs
  • Help lead strategy development and tactical execution of client initiatives to maximize Synchrony Car Care network opportunities.
  • Develop engagement plan and drive enrollment, conversion, and training of fragmented and SMB population to maximize activation.
  • Understand and anticipate portfolio dynamics to develop, support and implement key business strategies and contractual deliverables.
  • Drive and execute business strategies to improve cardholder network engagement, portfolio profitability, and long-term financial performance.
  • Client, P&L and Contract Ownership Leadership of 20+ contractual relationships and the renewal strategy for each.
  • Lead development of all key performance targets and business drivers.
  • Own and drive overall portfolio financial and network performance.
  • Partner with Functional Leadership to execute new portfolio initiatives and key growth strategies.
  • Lead cross-functional prioritization of Client and Synchrony Car Care Technology and Digital initiatives relative to existing or proposed client roadmaps.
  • Familiarity with SYF contracts and economic structures including gain share and dealer agreements.
  • Understand and deliver key client metrics/SLAs.
  • Partner & People Development Cultivate and maintain excellent working relationships with client groups and stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to elevate client relationships and drive program awareness through ELT engagement, Synchrony curated events and industry conferences.
  • Identify and cultivate talent to build robust leadership bench and support business growth.
  • Provide leadership to ensure adherence with all external and internal Compliance and Regulatory requirements, including Band 1, Band 2 and Band 3 oversight procedures.
  • Support H&A platform and business wide initiatives as needed.
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with major in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field, or 10+ years of financial services
  • Minimum 7 years’ leadership experience in financial services or within industry.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in managing GPCC, promotional finance, and private label portfolios at the senior level.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ negotiation experience.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 35% of the time.
