We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in the civil engineering sector. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and expertise in managing all aspects of quantity surveying, from initial cost estimation to project completion. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial and contractual aspects of various construction projects, collaborating with project managers, engineers, and clients to deliver successful outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for projects, ensuring accuracy and feasibility.
  2. Conduct regular cost analysis and financial reporting to track project expenditures against budgets.
  3. Manage procurement processes, including tendering, negotiating contracts, and selecting subcontractors.
  4. Review and analyze construction drawings and specifications to identify potential cost implications.
  5. Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  6. Monitor project progress and provide timely updates to stakeholders regarding financial status and forecasts.
  7. Collaborate with project teams to develop cost-effective solutions and value engineering options.
  8. Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards throughout the construction process.
  9. Mentor and train junior quantity surveyors and support their professional development.
  10. Participate in client meetings, presenting financial reports and addressing any concerns related to costs.

Preferred Candidate:

  1. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a minimum of 12 years in the civil engineering sector.
  2. Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials, along with relevant industry standards.
  3. Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  4. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with clients and team members.
  5. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  6. Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools, with a solid understanding of Microsoft Excel.
  7. Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
  8. Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  9. Relevant professional qualifications and memberships, such as MRICS or equivalent.
  10. Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
