The NPA team builds and continuously improves the corep network provisioning components used by tens of thousands of Amazonians, hundreds of thousands of IP enabled devices, a growing fleet of robots, and countless other user devices in our facilities around the world. You will work directly with other systems, and software engineers to help automate and improve the technology that supports our Fulfillment Centers and Transportation sites.

We are looking for a Network Development Engineer to provide technical thought leadership in the of our next-generation networks. As we look to the future, our networks will support an ecosystem of robotics, industrial IoT, sensors, drones, and mobile devices. You are comfortable with taking risks, and iterating on designs that may fail at the outset to ultimately deliver robust systems that elegantly scale. Information security and network reliability are at the core of your thought processes, and you are respected as an influencer.

In this role you will build tools and be part of the largest fulfillment network in the world, and provide guidance to and mentoring to network support teams to develop their skills and reinforce best practices. Network reliability is critical to Amazon Operations, and your responsibilities will include driving root cause resolution of provisioning events most impact-full to the business.

Our team's mandate is to create mechanisms that enable automated provisioning of network infrastructure stacks including discovery, bootstrapping, configuration, operational readiness and recovery in case of failure in order to eliminate human involvement and realize the full potential of zero-touch network managed by software.

As an Amazon Software Network Engineer, you will help tackle a diverse landscape of technical challenges. About The Team

We own the infrastructure automation that manages Amazon Store's compute and device infrastructure. We are passionate about taking complex infrastructure and abstracting it with self-service tooling. We embrace simple, decoupled, fault-tolerant solutions so we can spend more time innovating, and less time fixing.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience
  • 8+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
  • 5+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience

  • Prior experience with Machine Learning and AI is an asset
