About the position

The Loss Prevention Site Lead (LPSL) is a key leadership position within the Amazon Loss Prevention Team. This role is designed for individuals who are curious and eager to challenge conventional views of a Loss Prevention role in a unique environment. The LPSL is responsible for leading efforts to provide security services and asset protection across various domains, including lives, buildings, equipment, inventory, data, and intellectual property within a designated area of responsibility. This position empowers the LPSL to conduct root cause analysis and implement changes that enhance security measures and operational efficiency. The LPSL is expected to exceed expectations for both internal and external customers by introducing innovative ideas and fostering an inclusive and diverse work environment. In this role, the LPSL will report to the Regional Loss Prevention Manager and will collaborate with operational teams and cross-functional partners throughout the organization. The position may involve direct reports, depending on the specific role. The LPSL will enhance, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure that performance improvements are achieved in a timely manner. Continuous improvement is a core aspect of this role, where the LPSL will drive process enhancements and develop business cases based on data analysis from multiple distribution centers (DCs). The LPSL will engage, coach, and train business partners to extend Loss Prevention efforts by equipping them with the knowledge to identify potential risks and the appropriate escalation paths. The role also involves assisting with investigations of theft and fraud, conducting interviews, and using data analysis to identify inventory defects and create strategic plans to mitigate losses. The LPSL will inspire excellence among security services team members and third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with security protocols and best practices. Additionally, the LPSL will be responsible for incident response planning and management, addressing loss mitigation, and ensuring physical security considerations are met. This position requires flexibility as it covers a 24/7 operation, necessitating the ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The role also involves physical demands such as walking up to 5 miles a day and lifting up to 20 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or 4+ years of relevant professional or military experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in law enforcement, loss prevention, risk management, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of data collection experience with root cause analysis.
  • 2+ years of people management experience.
  • 1+ years of experience with MS Office Professional Suite, including data manipulation and analysis in Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma concepts and certification such as PMP.
  • Experience with databases (querying and analyzing) such as SQL, MYSQL, Access, Exception Based Reporting, etc.
  • Experience with security equipment such as intrusion detection devices, access control systems, and video review systems.
  • Experience in various business types such as logistics, warehouse, distribution center, and multi-site loss management.
  • Interviewing and Interrogation experience such as Wicklander and Zulawski, LPQ, CPP, LPC, CFI or other related certifications.
