The ideal candidate will have excellent negotiation, contract drafting, and analytical skills, as well as previous in-house legal, clinical operations, or procurement experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company. Additionally, the candidate will have a proven track record of collaborating with colleagues in legal and business functions on a wide range of contract types, effectively and efficiently handling a large volume of agreements, and serving as a trusted legal advisor to business partners.</p><p></p><p><u>Essential Functions:</u></p><p></p><ul><li><span>Draft, negotiate and manage a high volume and wide variety of contracts, including master service agreements, statements of work, amendments, clinical trial agreements throughout the lifecycle of the study, confidentiality agreements, and consulting agreements.</span></li><li><span>Evaluate legal and contractual risks and escalate matters in accordance with BeOne policies and guidance.</span></li><li><span>Provide practical, solution-oriented legal support to BeOne business functions, including research and development, procurement, finance, manufacturing, information technology, and others.</span></li><li><span>Ensure contract terms and conditions are compliant with applicable laws and regulations as well as accurately reflect BeOne intent and strategy. </span></li><li><span>Train and educate BeOne business functions on the use of contract templates, applicable playbooks, relevant legal issues, and good contracting practices. </span></li><li><span>Assist in implementing new contracts policies and procedures.</span></li><li><span>Lead and participate in special projects and successfully drive change with the organization as needed. </span></li><li><span>Partner cross-functionally to develop contracting approaches for new business strategies. </span></li><li><span>Conduct legal research, as needed, on a range of legal issues, including applicable laws, regulations, and contract-related matters, to support negotiations and business decision-making.</span></li><li><span>Other duties as assigned.</span></li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><u>Minimum Requirements – Education and Experience:</u></p><p></p><ul><li><span><span> </span>U.S. law degree (J.D.) and current “good standing” admission to at least one U.S. state bar</span></li><li><span>3+ years of prior in-house experience as a member of a legal department, clinical operations department, or procurement organization in a biotechnology or pharmaceuticals company strongly preferred.</span></li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><u>Other Experience: </u></p><p></p><ul><li><span>Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.</span></li><li><span>Ability to meet deadlines and work across global time zones.</span></li><li><span>Working knowledge of applicable healthcare laws, pharmaceutical and other relevant laws and regulations and ability to interpret and apply such knowledge to inform business activities and contract positions.</span></li><li><span>Demonstrated ability to collaborate, as well as to work independently, balancing competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a high level of professionalism.</span></li><li><span>Highly effective communication skills (both verbal and written).</span></li><li><span>Detail-oriented.</span></li><li><span>Ability to handle confidential and proprietary information using discretion and judgment.</span></li><li><span>Self-motivated, able to work independently and be reliable and responsive.</span></li><li><span>Ability to be flexible and willing to accept new responsibilities as needed.</span></li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><u>Supervisory Responsibilities:</u><b><span>  </span></b><span>This position does not have managerial responsibility or budgetary discretion</span></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><u><span>Global Competencies</span></u></p><p style="text-align:left">When we exhibit our values of Patients First, Driving Excellence, Bold Ingenuity and Collaborative Spirit, through our twelve global competencies below, we help get more affordable medicines to more patients around the world.</p><ul><li>Fosters Teamwork</li><li>Provides and Solicits Honest and Actionable Feedback</li><li>Self-Awareness</li><li>Acts Inclusively</li><li>Demonstrates Initiative</li><li>Entrepreneurial Mindset</li><li>Continuous Learning</li><li>Embraces Change</li><li>Results-Oriented</li><li>Analytical Thinking/Data Analysis</li><li>Financial Excellence</li><li>Communicates with Clarity</li></ul><p style="text-align:inherit"></p>Salary Range: $120,800.00 - $160,800.00 annually<p style="text-align:left"><span>BeOne is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Actual compensation packages are determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location. Packages may vary by location due to differences in the cost of labor. The recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for a preferred location during the hiring process.  Please note that the listed range reflects the base salary or hourly range only. Non-Commercial roles are eligible to participate in the annual bonus plan, and Commercial roles are eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
