What we need

We are in search of a Lead Robotics Engineer to enhance our Mobile Robots Engineering team within our Core Engineering organization. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver exceptional engineering support for mobile robots deployed at customer sites.

What you'll do

Diagnose and address complex technical challenges in real-time, applying your expertise in mechatronics, embedded systems, and sensor integration. You'll provide valuable technical guidance to maintenance teams for system diagnostics and component-level repairs.
Oversee the development and implementation of meticulous test plans, establishing milestones and defining requirements for sophisticated tools, instrumentation, and capital equipment essential for robotics system validation and field performance evaluations.
Lead engineering initiatives for on-site upgrades, focusing on hardware and software enhancements that elevate robotic system reliability, autonomy, and operational efficiency.
Collaborate with engineering design teams to develop and refine system architectures, leveraging your knowledge in kinematics, real-time control algorithms, and AI-based decision-making systems.
Serve as the primary technical liaison among stakeholders, including senior leadership, R&D teams, and external partners. You will offer detailed updates on system diagnostics, root cause analysis, and viable technical solutions.
Work closely with internal engineering teams, such as systems engineers and robotics software developers, along with external operations and maintenance teams, to ensure seamless integration and optimization of deployed robotics systems.
Engage in cross-functional teamwork with engineering development groups, providing data-driven insights that influence design decisions and enhance the next generation of robotics technologies.

What you'll need

A Bachelor's degree in robotics or an engineering field, or equivalent professional experience.
A minimum of 8 years of experience providing engineering services on-site with complex robotic, automotive, or electromechanical systems.
A proven track record of troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and software systems to determine the root cause of issues.
Hands-on experience in designing complex robotic or electromechanical systems.
Experience with drivetrain systems, batteries, PCBAs, and other electromechanical components and systems.
Willingness to travel up to 25% for field assignments.

Our Environment

Employees should expect up to 25% travel. A valid driver's license is required, and employees must manage their travel expenses with reimbursement on a bi-weekly basis.
