About the position

The Knowledge Management & Governance team at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Information Architect to play a pivotal role in designing and implementing the structure, organization, and user experience of the information and content systems utilized by AWS sellers. This position is crucial for establishing a robust information architecture that includes the development of ontologies and metadata schemas, which are essential for efficient knowledge management and user-friendly content navigation. The Information Architect will be responsible for ensuring that all content adheres to relevant security, privacy, and compliance standards by establishing and enforcing information governance policies. In this role, collaboration is key. The Information Architect will work closely with various teams, including Field teams, researchers, subject matter experts, and content authors, to align the information architecture with the operational needs of the organization. This collaboration aims to foster an intuitive experience for the Field, ensuring that AWS Field professionals have seamless access to the information they need. By leveraging expertise in data management, systems integration, and user experience design, the Information Architect will contribute significantly to creating a secure and efficient content ecosystem. The position requires a proactive approach to data analysis and modeling, information architecture design, user experience (UX) design, systems integration, governance and compliance, and the development of metadata and ontologies. The role also involves auditing and review mechanisms, risk assessment, and policy development to ensure the integrity and quality of the information systems. The Information Architect will exemplify a customer-obsessed mindset, working backwards to understand and meet the needs of AWS customers while delivering results in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment.
