Position Summary:
Join a dynamic team of critical care transport professionals providing high-quality interfacility air ambulance care aboard fixed wing aircraft. As a Per Diem Flight Nurse, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring safe and efficient patient transport across regional and international destinations, primarily within the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. This position is ideal for experienced critical care nurses seeking flexibility and the unique challenges of aeromedical transport.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide advanced critical care during fixed wing air ambulance transports
Perform patient assessments, manage complex medical conditions, and deliver interventions en route
Collaborate closely with pilots, medical crews, ground teams, and sending/receiving facilities
Maintain and check medical equipment and supplies to ensure readiness
Uphold safety, infection control, and transport protocols in accordance with company policies and aviation regulations
Represent the organization professionally during all patient interactions and facility communications

Qualifications:

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in California
Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a critical care setting (ICU, ER, or equivalent)
Certifications required:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Preferred Certifications:
Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN)
Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN)
Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and ability to work independently in high-pressure environments
Must reside within the San Diego area and be available for on-call assignments with a 2-hour call-out time

Additional Info:

Flights are primarily scheduled during daytime hours, though some missions may extend overnight depending on patient needs and destination
Travel may include regional and cross-border transports
