Responsibilities

Each day in this role offers the opportunity to shape innovative designs, creating detailed, precision-driven drawings that bring complex engineering concepts to life. By collaborating with engineers, mentoring others, and ensuring the highest standards of quality, you play a crucial part in delivering impactful solutions that drive success and safety across projects.

  • Design & Drafting : Prepare accurate layout and detail drawings of parts, assemblies, and related items on non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity. Prepare design drawings, including piping isometrics, single line drawings, P&ID’s, and pipe support drawings. Conduct self-checks of created drawings, sketches, and related data to proactively identify factors that may negatively affect final product. Work independently of engineers but confer with engineers and other designers for design concept interpretation
  • Collaboration & Support: Support engineers with any changes to drawings. Review the work of other designers/drafters and provide mentoring and leadership
  • Compliance & Performance: Understand and follow all organizational, area/departmental, and client procedures, safety policies, and directives. Meet applied time goals set for position/discipline

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree with minimum 6 years of experience, HS 10+, or Bachelor’s Degree in related field with minimum 5 years of design experience
  • Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs
  • Works with the engineering team in the development of 3D design models and orthographic drawings, piping isometrics, and detailed drawings
  • Develop piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), process flow diagrams (PFD), HVAC system design\layouts, facility layouts and Civil, Electrical & Instrumentation (CE&I) system diagrams
  • Knowledge in the practices of an engineering discipline; competent in the fundamental concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline
  • Selects hardware and materials as required by the project, with guidance from engineers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of codes, standards, criteria, and design execution pertinent to various aspects of design
  • Ability to travel for short trips to get badged (on an as needed basis)
  • Works in a multidisciplinary team
  • Develops and maintains red-line documents (ECN’s, FCN’s etc.)
  • Performs checking of design documents produced by peers, in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Advanced knowledge of design software, such as AutoCAD or MicroStation
  • Advanced knowledge of one or more 3D CAD software, such as SolidWorks, Plant3D, SmartPlant, Inventor, CREO, and/or Revit
  • Must be a US Citizen

Salary Range

The salary range for this full-time position is below. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Pay Range

USD $65,000.00 - USD $96,000.00 /Yr.
